15 Minute Challenge

Busy week.  Not much sewing. Actually, none at all.

Tuesday - made biscotti
Wednesday - made biscotti
Thursday - made biscotti
Friday - finished biscotti
Saturday - nada
Sunday - nada
Monday - made no-sew throw

I didn't do any sewing this week .. but figured I would join up anyway just to let you know what's been going on.

My eldest son got married on Saturday, August 24th.One of my responsibilities for the wedding was to make biscotti for each of the guests to take home.  I was supposed to make three kinds of biscotti: maple walnut, authentic Italian, and vanilla dipped in chocolate.  By Wednesday, I had finished making what I thought was all the biscotti, but I had made maple walnut, authentic Italian, and lemon -- 120 of each.  So, on Thursday, I made 120 pieces of vanilla biscotti.  On Friday, I dipped it in chocolate, bagged it, tied the bags (using ribbon with the names of the bride and groom and the wedding date), and then I was done.

I'm kinda tired of biscotti at this point .. I think my favorite ended up being a tie between the vanilla and the lemon.  (Okay, so that's not picking a favorite ...).  I will definitely make those two again.  Actually, the only one I didn't really like was the authentic Italian one.

I'll do some wedding posts soon.

15 Minute Challenge

I'm a little late this week; I've just been working and haven't felt much like doing anything like blogging.

Tuesday - work on stacked monkeys
Wednesday - work on stacked monkeys
Thursday - work on stacked monkeys
Friday - nada
Saturday - make ring bearer pillow(s)
Sunday - finish quilting stacked monkeys, attach binding to back, start hand sewing
Monday - nada

Decent week.   I think I finished stacked monkeys on Tuesday, but I didn't write it down so I don't remember, but here it is.  I'll take a few more pictures later to get the whole effect..

I need to work on my picture taking.  Love this quilt, especially the scrappy binding. I'll try to get a better picture before I ship it off to it's new owner, plus I need to add it to my finished quilt list.

Here's the link to the 15 minute challenge -- check it out or better yet, link up1

It's Official

I miss google reader.  I have the hardest time keeping up with the blogs I follow.  I didn't like bloglovin' and I'm not excited over feedly.

Does anyone have any recommendations? Or perhaps thoughts on the best way to keep up with your favorite blogs?

and more pictures...

Hopefully these pictures will give you a good idea of what the AJ quilt looks like.

 The back.

 The rolled up quilt picture.

The quilt on my orange Adirondack chair.

This picture shows some of the blue stitching that I did on the white blocks.

This was about as good a picture as I could get without helpers to hold the quilt, but you can get an idea of what it looks like.

and here's a picture of my helper blowing his horn (well. rolled-up poster).
