Gallifrey One - 2017

Nevada, my husband, and I went to our third Doctor Who convention this past weekend.  We spent three days in L.A. going to panels, interviews, and cocktail receptions.  We watched people do karaoke.  We did a ton of people watching.  There were some fantastic costumes, lots and lots of people cosplaying -- sometimes with crazy costumes, sometimes stealthily.  Here are some pictures from the weekend.

Coctail Wednesday - Blackberry Lavender Champagne Cocktail

So .... Nevada's mom posted one of those videos on facebook that show how you make this beautiful cocktail.  Check out the video and the recipe here.

This is what the drink is supposed to look like.

  

We couldn't find any fresh lavender, but did find some dried, in the spices section of our local grocery store.   

Ingredients:

• 1 tablespoon lavender flowers (dried or fresh)
• 1 cup blackberries (fresh or frozen)
• ½ cup maple syrup
• ¼ cup vodka
• 2 (750ml) bottles champagne

 Got home from work and cooked up the berries (and maple syrup) and lavender, oh and vodka.

I may not have cooked it long enough cuz the berry mixture didn't stay in the bottom of the glass and it didn't look nearly as pretty.  

 

It tasted pretty good.  Might try again with fresh lavender .. if I ever find it.
