My favorite this week is lighthouses.
Copper Harbor lighthouse ..
Eagle Harbor lighthouse ..
(image from here)
Jacobsville ..
Eagle River lighthouse ..
Five Mile Point lighthouse
Pigeon Point Lighthouse, California
A correction to my previous post .. as noted by my father. The Jacobsville light above is not the lighthouse at Jacobsville at all (we couldn't find the actual lighthouse and just settled for the entry light near Jacobsville).
Here is a picture with the true Jacobsville Lighthouse. My father's Great Uncle Jim, is the "stout fellow with a cap standing near the center of the picture and he is eating"

Isn't it interesting how different they all are?
Cheers
Helen
Light houses are very cool. Great FTF.
Nice piccies. Lighthouses always have interesting histories, don't they?
Very cool. :)
Ooh! Love those lighthouses! When we go to the beach, we always visit the Morris Lighthouse on Folly Beach. It's about a 3 miles from our beach house. ☺ Thanks for sharing. Happy FTF!
I wouldn't have thought of these, but they are great. There is something about their function and the setting that works. thanks for sharing.
I really enjoyed seeing your photos! I've got a lighthouse photo right here on the wall when I look up from my computer. It was from our trip to the U.P. in Michigan. We did a little lighthouse tour along the way. Happy FTF!
There is something romantic and inspiring about lighthouses that just appeals to me.
Five Mile Point lighthouse looks like a mansion. Very fancy. I wouldn't mind being the lighthouse keeper there.
This was such a creative and fabulous favourite!
Have you visited all of these lighthouses? they are all beautiful, but Helen is right, they're very different!
I didn't realise I am rather partial to lighthouses too until I saw your lovely photos. They are wonderful and they are all so different in style.
I love your photos...beautiful. My favourite I think is the one at 'pigeon point' it looks so rustic. Great FTF.
Yay! I think one of the Keewanaw lights is for sale maybe Jacobsville? Maybe next time I am in CA we should do a light tour.
The light you show as the Jacobsville light is the entry light at the end of a very long breakwater. The Jacobsville light is on shore and visible from the entry light. It is the same design as the Eagle Harbor light and pictures of it are often mistaken for the EH light. I have a picture of a picture of Uncle Jim Cox and friends having a picnic on the grounds with the Jacobsville light in the background.
