Words-adapted from The Bible, book of Ecclesiastes
Music-Pete Seeger
To Everything (Turn, Turn, Turn)
There is a season (Turn, Turn, Turn)
And a time to every purpose, under Heaven
A time to be born, a time to die
A time to plant, a time to reap
A time to kill, a time to heal
A time to laugh, a time to weep
A time to build up,a time to break down
A time to dance, a time to mourn
A time to cast away stones, a time to gather stones together
A time of love, a time of hate
A time of war, a time of peace
A time you may embrace, a time to refrain from embracing
A time to gain, a time to lose
A time to rend, a time to sew
A time for love, a time for hate
A time for peace, I swear it's not too late

Goals
This is in response to Katie's post today about four goals for the end of the year. Here are a couple of things I want to accomplish.
1 - finish my "other pinwheel sampler"
2 - take the CLM exam (scheduled for September 30) - done
3 - lose 10 pounds by Christmas
4 - get serious about my running 3 miles goal. I want to walk every day for at least 1/2 hour. Maybe if it's not such a chore, I will actually do it.
I'd also like to spend more time sewing - clothes, quilts, other stuff. I'd like to spend more time reading. I'd like to spend less time watching TV. These are just general wants and not really goals ...

Thursday - finished quilt
The finished baby quilt. I am really happy with the parts of this quilt but I don't like the way it came together. I like the quilting. I like the binding - my corners look great. I like the backing. I didn't get backing that matched the front. I didn't have enough of the fabric so I had to piece the backing.
It's just a lot of work to not be happy with the way it turned out. Oh, well, live and learn.
You can kind of see the quilting in this picture. |
The front turned out great - I think the red binding is okay. Looking at it now, dark blue binding might have been a better choice. |
And the back. It's okay, just not exactly what I was going for. |
It's just a lot of work to not be happy with the way it turned out. Oh, well, live and learn.
