Favorite Things Friday

My favorite thing this week is the smell of freshly baked bread.

I am baking a loaf right now.   My second favorite thing is eating freshly baked bread.

No pictures of me eating the bread -- but it's just about all gone!!

My mom used to bake bread.  Even the pb&j sandwiches I took to school were made with homemade bread.  I don't remember her teaching me how to bake bread, but she must have.  I first started baking bread when my kids were little and for the past several years I've made cinnamon bread as Christmas gifts.  My house smells heavenly the week before Christmas.

I don't think any of my kids have started baking bread yet, but I hope they will.  I don't know if  my sisters (or my brother) bake bread or if any of my nieces or nephews do.   I do know my cousin Sara does or has on occasion because I remember making some with her.  So it's kind of a family thing..

So anyway, that's my FTF for today (a little early...).

I try not to eat too much bread, but the smell of warm fresh baked bread is a temptation very hard to resist.

What a fabulous favourite, I love the smell of fresh baked bread, I just don't make it much any more as I would eat too much. Your lovely photos have me craving a warm freshly baked slice (or two)!

So would you be willing to share your Cinnamon Bread recipe. I used to bake bread, in a bread machine, but I realized how much bread I was eating and had to quit. But I still love the smell and how it makes me feel to walk into a house where it is baking.

Yum! Care to share your Cinnamon Bread recipe? Fabulous FTF! I only wish blogs had a smell-o-meter so I could catch a whiff of your beautiful bread. :o) Happy FTF!

Oh, my goodness - this just made me really hungry! Your bread is beautiful! I have just recently started experimenting with yeasty things - I have perfected cinnamon rolls and pizza dough - I'd love to move on to bread, but I fear for my waistline!!!

thanks for sharing - wish you had smell-o-vision!

Ok I saw your bread with the butter picture and immediately thought "I must make bread". How do you get your loaves to look so uniformly fabulous?

I think there is absolutely nothing in this world like the smell of fresh baked bread.(with loads of butter - I am also a butter fiend)

LOVED this FTF Thea because it reminded me that sometimes very simple easy things bring so much pleasure and happiness.

Love fresh bread, but I don´t bake my own anymore. There is so much great bread available over here, I don´t want to spend the time baking. And the best thing is fresh bread with butter and NUTELLA..deeeeeeeeeeelicious :-)

What a great FTF! There is nothing like the smell and taste of fresh baked bread. My guy usually bakes fresh bread on Sunday for dinner (I sew, he bakes, works for us). Kiddo has been taking lessons from Dad. Says she's planning for college when she wont' have us around to feed her!

Well, you have quite a following on this blog! I have baked bread but I don't usually make the loaf from scratch. I make rolls and I buy yummy bread from Krogers bakery. I think I want some now!

Crusty white bread is absolutely my favourite food in the whole wide world. With sesame seeds on top. I've never baked any myself but I get my rolls from Baker's Delight and they are always excellent.

Oh, drool...it looks so, so good. Sadly I had to give up eating regular wheat flour bread a couple years ago, but I can almost smell your heavenly loaves from here. Gluten-free bread really does not hold a candle, but I did see a different GF recipe in the paper this week that I might try, now that you've got me inspired. Happy FTF!
