Things I've Been Up To

So today I worked on the Grinch quilt.  If I do a little everyday, I might actually finish it this year.

Here it is all bunched up by my sewing machine.

There was a winter storm yesterday, but it basically missed us.  It was cold and snowed a very little.  I was really hoping for a couple of inches so the kids could play in it, but it wasn't to be. It is still pretty cold and there was ice everywhere.  Fortunately, it warmed up and melted most of it.

I also decided to try drying apples using the dehydrator. It took forever (about 9 hours) and the machine was super loud.  Not sure it was worth it but it was fun to do. They taste great.

So on my January goals:

  • I've picked out the crochet project I'm going to try.  I need to print it and brush up on my "skills."
  • I worked on the Grinch quilt
  • I've been walking almost every day
I have to figure out the New Year's cards and I'm not sure how to ensure I'm getting enough water.

Trying new things is a great way to start off the new year. I've gotten off to a slow start with my resolutions as I considered myself on vacation till Grad Girl went back to school.
