I didn't watch the Beatles that night 50 years ago (at least not that I remember) but the Beatles were a part of my life. I can remember listening to their albums over and over again. Watching their movies. Reading everything I could find about them. I never got to see them live, but I've been to three McCartney concerts. One in 1976, one in 2005, and one last year (or was it the year before).
I don't actually have a favorite Beatles song. I love so many of the songs from Help and a Hard Day's Night. I'll share "You've Got to Hide Your Love Away."

The Beatles music is a part of growing up in the sixties. I doubt I knew what a TV was that night 50 years ago.
I watched that Ed Sullivan show 50 years ago, and remember NOT being impressed, and being teased about that at school the next day. Never did become a big Beatles fan, but when some of their older tunes come on the radio, I find myself singing along nonetheless.
I wasnt around 50 years ago but I've spent plenty of time since singing Beatles songs.
