We haven't done that in about 20 years. So today, we went to a Christmas tree farm about 30 miles from our house. We looked at about 100 trees before we settled on one. We cut it down and carried it out and put it up in our house. I'll post pictures when it's decorated.

As a side note, this is my 402nd post. I meant to post this on the 400th post, but missed.

That looks like such fun! The last time I did that, it turned out to be a prickly cedar tree. LOL
Oh my goodness Thea. Congratulations on 402 posts !
We had a real Christmas tree once when I was a kid. But we certainly didnt have to go and find it the way you did. It all adds to the magic of Christmas doesnt it?
I wonder if real trees aren't popular here because it's summer time and they dont last very long in our heat ?
The boys look like they enjoyed themselves immensely!
Looks like a good time was had by all! Very cute boys.
Have fun decorating your tree!
What fun! We haven't EVER done that. We feel accomplished to get one at lowes.
We go on what my sisters delightfully refer to as "feevin" trips to get our pine trees; we live in the pine tree capital of Australia so it's not like they're hard to come by. You just have to avoid the forestries guys. Last year we did it dressed as batman, an elf, a fairy and a construction worker, for reasons I don't exactly remember.
We're even worse at picking out trees - sometimes we will cut down 3 or 4 because we find better ones on the way home.
I'm a half-dozen away from 600 posts, but I figure that most of mine have been pointless ramblings, so I'll be ignoring the occasion. I think the fact that you've been at it for nearly 5 years is way more impressive.
Congrats on 402 posts!!!! Love your photos and you can't beat the smellof a real tree...Love daddy's little helper. Over here because of the heat they just drop their needles too quickly. Love to see how you decorate it.
